The scam presents itself as the Color Craze 5k event. They have an official website https://www.colorcraze.run/ that lists locations and events all around the US for color runs, glow runs, bubble runs, and lantern festivals. They offer various ticket experiences at prices ranging from $55-$270. Tickets are supposedly handled through a company called Luna Ticketing that also requires you to make an account with them (https://www.lunaticketing.com). When you purchase a ticket, they send you a registration link that states it must be completed within 20 minutes or they can revoke your entrance to the event with no refund. The registration requires you to upload a proto of your driver's license in png form. No exact event location is ever given; the pdf sent after registration is completed says they will email the packet pickup location the night before and to follow their social media link https://www.colorcraze.run/social/ for more updates. After no updates came and it was less than 24 hours before the race, I reached out to the contact link. Someone from the email [email protected] began communicating with me stating that "email regarding event details were going out in batches" and to be patient. They demanded to know who I was going with, and when I refuse to give any more personal details, they responded with "The organizers arent going to provide you information refusing to tell who you're attending with as its part of our security policy." I contacted the City of Gulf Shores, AL, and they stated that they have no record of any Color Craze being held anywhere within their city at any time.
