Aggressive debt collector VM/ debt judgement filing Q’s in MN Hello I am 32/f Location: Wright county, Minnesota Hopefully I’m posting this in the right sub. Today I received a call/voicemail from someone telling me in short that there was a judgment soon to be filed against me with the Wright County Sheriff’s department. They stated my full government name and the last 4 digits of my SSN, as well as my address. (Spooked me) They stated that I have by end of day to stop the pursuit of a judgment with the courts, by calling such and such number. They stated that I was required to “provide a signature or appearance “. They mentioned an application of attachment of lienable property including (make/model of car I drive) (my license plate #) — they stated my year/make/model/plate # of my vehicle in the voicemail.. this freaked me out too.. The voicemail was 1.5 minutes long. That was basically the cliff notes. I called the number provided, and was met with the same voice who left the VM. I asked what this was regarding — For context I am 32/f and have been working on my credit for the past 3 years, 715 FICO currently. I Just refinanced my car 2 months ago. In my early 20’s I was frivolous and irresponsible and I opened and never paid a kohls cc and cap one cc - both of those balances together did not exceed 700$, but as far an I know any and all old debts have either been paid/resolved or are in the process of being paid. I have been extremely diligent regarding my finances for the past 5 years plus. So this call was shocking. — the man on the line mentioned a US bank account. (I had a bank act with US Bank from 2013-2015) And some payday loan place he mentioned as well. I may have received a payday loan from ACE (?) back in 2015 ish (500$) that may not have been paid back… I remembered that, This rang a bell in my head but I did not acknowledge this with the debt collector.
