Any way around a non-solicitation agreement My former employer (company y) has a non-solicitation clause in one of the agreements I signed. I am now an independent contractor and was hoping to work with another former employer (company x) who later became a client of my recent employer (i.e., I worked for company x, left company x to work for company y, company x became a client of company y, I left company y). The clause with company y specifically is as follows: "During my employment with the Company and for 12 months following termination of my employment with the Company for any reason, I shall not provide services which are materially similar to the services provided by the Company, to any client or former client of the Company with whom I had direct contact in the course of my employment with the Company or about whom I learned Confidential Information as a result of my employment with the Company." Any way around this? The governing law would be that of the state of Georgia. What if I were part time employee rather than 1099/contractor with company x? Could I setup a wrapper company for whom I provide services, which in turns provides services to company x? **EDIT - what if I do not soliciting work and instead am just offered it (found this: http://www.martindale.com/labor-employment-law/article_Jackson-Lewis-LLP_1133398.htm)** Thanks,
How can I know if a lawyer is good I think I have a case (discrimination on the basis of disability) against my former employer, and I finally decided to call a couple of lawyers and ask them for consultation. I found a few leads through martindale.com, and set up consultation appointments. How do I know if these guys are good? Is there any objective measures that I can look up (e.g. court records) to measure their ability?
