Mayeconstruction.com job scam, and Yahoo Messenger interviews I'm a recent college graduate who has been having serious trouble finding a job, so when I received an email about working for a company called Mayeconstruction, online from home for $24/hr, I was too enticed to let my skepticism get in the way. They claimed they had received my resume and wanted to conduct an interview. The first warning sign was that I did not remember sending this company my resume. However, I've sent about 60 companies my resume over the last 3 months, so I assumed I had forgotten this one. Another warning sign was that they wanted to conduct the interview over Yahoo Messenger. This seemed fishy to me, but I'm pretty desperate for a decent job, so I sent an email back requesting more information. They replied with the website, mayeconstruction.com, and a long list of open jobs, which were all sounded very generic (things like Data Entry and Customer Service). The website was decent. There was a few small issues at the surface, such as all the news being from the same day, and the contact page was in a non-English language, though they were based in New Jersey. I set up a Yahoo Messenger account and started the interview with someone called dorislara001. The interview went well, and it seemed fairly professional until I was asked for my bank account information (supposedly for direct deposit). I stated that I needed more proof before giving out such information. This is when dorislara001's grammar and spelling started to go down the drain. They claimed that the website was proof. I pointed out that the website had a few problems. When I began to question whether the company was real or not, this is what I got: "What do you want are you ready or not i don't come hear for play" Obviously not legit.
