Someone is trying to serve me a summons from a car accident that I was in 3 years ago. They don't have my current address.... Someone is trying to send me a summons but only has the address of my parents house. My brother answered the door and said that I dont live there anymore and they gave him a tracking number that I can use to give them my information on a website. My question is what happens if I make no effort to give them my address? They left a tracking number and a website where I enter it and then some information on where I tell them where and when they can drop it off to me in person (http://www.mcouriers.com/ is the site, they are a division of ABC Legal). Please don't take this as me skirting responsibility. This accident happened 3 years ago, I filled out all the necessary paper work, followed up with my insurance company, and all the insurance companies have since closed their cases. It was a seven car pile up but no one was seriously injured or went to the hospital from the accident. I am fairly certain of who the people who are suing are and I remember thinking at the time "these people are going to milk this for all its worth". I just found this out, I'm pissed and I want to say "fuck you, you have to find me first". Is this stupid? Do I just need to get this summons and talk to a lawyer? The accident was in Washington State where I currently reside.
