[US] Probably a scam, what to do? www.mybalancenow.com* I have this extremely old gift card from about 5 years ago or older and I couldn’t really use it now so I went to the website www.mybalancenow.com it showed my card and previous transactions but it said my card was on hold. I called the number it provided and I asked for customer service to figure that out but the person who picked up had a pretty heavy accent and there was obvious commotion in the background. But I did the mistake of giving my address for a replacement card, so I’m concerned about what hazards come with that.. (the money in the card isn’t mine so I don’t really lose out on anything like that, just safety concerns..) p.s. I’m young and i realize this is not smart of me

I purchased a $100 Visa Gift card from Target in Lomita, CA. The funds were immediately removed from the card because it is a zero balance. It was a Christmas gift for my son. The card was completely packaged and a I saw no signs of temperedness before making the purchase. Once I opened the card to package it in a gift card holder I noticed the last 4 numbers were scrubbed off and the barcode in the back had been removed and a sticker placed over it. The security code was also scrubbed off. Mybalancenow.com was no help to me due to not having the full card information. Please help with not letting this SCAM continue to happen. Apparently these particular visa cards are all tampered with so why do stores continue to allow them to be sold?
