My brother was hit and run over on his bike by a 69 year old woman who claims she thought it was a curb. And not charged. What should we do? In Chandler, Arizona. My younger brother, 19 year old freshman, was hit and run over twice by the front and back right tire of a dodge caliber. He is in the hospital recovering from surgery where he's going to be needing permanent metal plates. The good thing is there were plenty of witnesses, at least 8 according to the police and they all gave their testimony and all claimed that the old lady had knowingly ran him over, floored it, and then ran him over again with the back right tire on his abdomen while he was pinned under the car. The witnesses are also claiming that she literally and noticeably sped away and fled as fast as she could. She hit him as he was crossing the cross walk on his bike, she failed to make a complete stop as she made her right turn (on a red light of course) that struck my brother. My brother had the full and complete way as it was a red light for her and a flashing crossing pedestrian cross thingy for him. This is all according to witness testimony. Another disturbing aspect was the fact that we received no information from the police that they had found the driver of the car (soon after the car they claimed to have just found the car which made me assume it was abandoned) and found out about the person, age, name, from the news article from fox, which is painfully full of erroneous information, and automatically gives her the benefit of the doubt. Also witnesses claim that she fled into a neighborhood behind a shopping plaza but the fox article claims that according to the police she was SHOPPING at famous footwear inside the plaza! I'm still trying to process everything from him almost getting paralyzed or worse his head getting run over, and the fact that they aren't charging this crazy lady.
