I recently received a letter in the mail claiming to be from "Best in Medicine" Magazine and stating I have been recognized as "one of the top counselors in my region." The letter went on to say I would be featured in Best in Medicine's North Carolina edition, celebrating my contributions to healthcare. The signature line featured the name Scarlett Shepherd, and the website was simply myname.bestinmedicine.com. The letter also included a QR code at the top right corner to scan, which I did not. No one else at my agency received such a letter, so I already found that to be suspicious. There was a P.S. at the bottom stating "There's never a charge for inclusion, and inclusion is not contingent on a purchase." Just a warning for other professionals out there as I did not visit the website nor scan the QR code so I can't say with certainty where these would lead.
