Crowd-funded Charity Scam Site: Silver Alms? Recently, someone just posted about Steve Creech - a sick RPG game author. Steve and his wife are trying to raise money via Indiegogo. They have a video on YouTube and on their Indigogo page clearly titled *Steve Creech Indiegogo Campaign*. All of this can easily be confirmed and seems legit. You can even get some PDFs of Steve's work if you contribute. However, those recent posts were by a *good friend* of Steve and pointed to a campaign on **silveralms.com**. The text, images, and video were that same as those on the Indiegogo site, and the owner was *Steve Creech*. (Silver Alms offers no form or other means of contacting the campaign owner.) The domain silveralms.com is registered to *own manager* in India along with the parent domain neondigilabs.com - a sparse template of a site. (All info on Godaddy.) My favorite campaign has to be Suelen Silva's *Basketball Girl* campaign: a girl in China has no legs and hops around on a basketball. Only 22 day (sic) left to help her get new legs and train for the 2012 Paralympics. Sigh. Now there are a bunch of other "ordinary" campaigns on Silver Alms, and I wonder if more of these are real current requests/charities (by some definition other than scam) reposted on that site for some unknown reason other than the percentage of funds that goes to Silver Alms.
