Yes, there is Life After Doge I have been watching the pessimism on the cryptocurrency subreddits for the past few weeks, and wanted to inject my perspective. Bitcoin got my attention back in 2009 when, for the second time in my adult working life, Wall Street banks vaporized a significant portion of my net worth. While it was too hardware intensive and complicated for me to get in deep, I did like the thought behind Bitcoin. However, in my mind, mining was always something for "the big players". Fast forward to this January. I had to buy a laptop, so I went down to Fry's and browsed the shelves. I noticed that the video cards were absolutely cleaned out. Asking the staff why that was, they alluded to people buying them up to mine Litecoin. That was the first time I really looked into the viability of mining. Breaking out a crappy old computer, I looked for tutorials on how to get started. I speak from firsthand experience that Dogecoin gets people into mining. All the best help was made by the Dogecoin community, and it's approach made starting out not feel like a huge commitment - a stepping stone into this new world. Within the first few weeks, I set up a Coinbase account, bought my first Bitcoin, installed a wallet, transferred to an exchange, swapped for Dogecoin and sold Doge on /r/dogemarket through Paypal. No major amounts, but I understand how it all works now. Today I have 2 mining rigs in my garage cranking ~ 2.7 Mh - one AMD and one NVidia. I use a multi pool, which is simplest for dabbling in a bunch of different currencies, and I have 16 different wallets. I have no intention of stopping. "But look at the price," you say. Consider what has happened on the main stage in the past 6 months. A major drug ring whose primary currency was Bitcoin was shut down. A major exchange ran off with millions of dollars in a Wall Street-like conspiracy. Regulators call Bitcoin a Ponzi scheme and Jon Stewart calls it the Tamaguchi of money. **And yet**, Bitcoin
