I applied for a job offer on Glassdoor for a Customer Service Remote Call Center position. My interview was done via slack (chat app). After the interview took place, within 1-2 business days, I received an offer in which I was provided wage info and a $1,200.00 bonus with instructions about doing a background check and verifying my information via ID.me. I sent back my information for a background check. I was then sent another email to arrange to do the ID.Me verification which was by appointment. I set up an appointment which was on 4/3/26 at 9am, but never heard from the representative (Edward Burns). I emailed him back regarding the ID.me verification. I was sent within minutes a response stating that my background check was approved and that someone from recruiting and payroll would be in touch with me with the next steps. Again, within minutes, I get another email from Randy Mayes from payroll asking me to complete a direct deposit form for my wages to be deposited, my bonus and my equipment procurement. After that, I immediately contacted a phone number from the progressivehhhcare.com site which I got a phone number from. The number had a 213 area code which was from Los Angeles. The facility which was located in Modesto, CA has a 209 area code. I called the 213 number from the website first....the phone number asked to leave a message. Then I called the place in Modesto which I did do a web search. I spoke to a rep at the Modesto office. I asked for Randy Mayes in payroll. The rep said that there was no Randy Mayes that worked there in payroll. I immediately contacted BBB to submit a complaint.
