What do you do when you catch your landlord stealing from you? I currently Live in Seattle, Washington. I am moving in two weeks to the East Coast. I gave two months advanced notice to my landlord that I would be leaving and moving out. I went out of town for an over night trip and when i returned there was a for rent sign on the inside of my apartment. It was clear that someone had entered my apartment to put the "for rent" sign into the apartment. I was given no advanced notice. I called the landlord to complain but, as always, there was no answer to her cell phone so i left a message. The following day I went down to the basement to get some things from my storage space. There i noticed that my partners iMac box was completely empty. I asked him to find out if he had packed it into another box, and....... to make a long story short, the iMac was missing and because of my partners experience with computers, he was able to observe internet activity coming from that specific iMac from a century link internet connection using a mail server of "mail.prseng.com". This looked familiar to me, so i went and looked up the email address that my landlord uses when she does actually reply to me and sure enough her email ended with @prseng.com. So, outside of calling the police, which we did, does anyone out there know from a legal stand point what the best course of action would be to take? This is the "umpteenth" time they have entered my apartment without warning me. There are many other things that have occured that has made this apartment extremely scary to live in for the past 10 months. Is there anything we can do? Thanks Reddit..
