Unwarranted 3-Day notice arrived on my door today from the property management... how should I deal with it? Hello r/legaladvice, I've been served a "Notice to Permanently Perform Convenant or Quit". It did not state a specific reason that I was being served the notice, nor did it have any curable violations (or any violations at all) mentioned on the document other than extremely general legalese (drug dealing, usage, vandalism, loitering, gang activity, etc.) Also it mentions that I have broken the law of false imprisonment. Not being an expert on tenant law I decided to read up a little on my own. I am quite sure I haven't violated any part of the lease (nor have I committed false imprisonment). The piece of paper says that whatever violation I have committed can be cured by 'meeting with management', something I am LOATHE to do because every meeting results in wasted time. Also, management has been spamming me constantly with emails that I have ignored. The notice also threatens to take up to 600 dollars in damages (which I cannot afford), lists no serving party (I assume it is management since it states that I must meet with management "as soon as possible"), and no date of service. Note: As background I am a very neat and tidy person, am living with 2 other people (who are slovenly and very passive aggressive) who I have come to be on bad terms with because of their passive aggression.. and they have now dragged the management into the mix instead of talking directly to me. A month or two ago I knocked on their respective doors and asked what was wrong and had it closed in my face. I can be abrasive but nothing to warrant eviction! The reason I think they are doing this is because an apartment-mate keeps complaining to management about me and because he is staying and I am leaving, they are trying to make my time here much worse. Does this qualify as harassment? Can I possibly threaten management with a counter-suit if they served me such a vague and unwarra
