my boyfriend and I are two parents with a five year-old and I am currently pregnant looking to get a bigger home for a growing family. He got contacted by this person through a website about a different house on Academy Boulevard, but we were in the process of trying to fill out an application for another house that we didn’t get to the leasing process for so we decided to go back to this guy. When we got back to him, he sent pictures of this house in Cape Coral (33909) I can’t remember… but we were super excited and he even let us into the house, giving us a pin number to check out as a self guided tour for the house So we checked out the house and we LOVED it. We let him know that we wanted it- and we were ready to move forward with applications. Cost us $50 each.. we had a cosigner as well because my credit isn’t the best so it was $150 altogether and my boyfriend actually had to use his card information to pay for my application. we inserted our Social Security numbers all three of us, our date of birth and our full government names for the “ background check” and it seemed pretty legit. It was asking us legit questions of like where we resided in 2010, and if we’re associated with certain people in our lives that we didn’t give them the names of. We went on rentspree.com and also signnow.com to sign the lease. If it wasn’t for me telling my mom that he was trying to wire transfer for us to get the money from us…we would’ve been *******…We would’ve given him $3100 and no house- this guy needs to be reported and in jail. He’s probably done this to multiple people by now, as it’s the holidays and seeing the house on christmas DAY must’ve been a red flag i guess. i hope this helps someone out, and this guy gets caught.
