Community Reports

A way to report and avoid crypto scams Hey guys, my name is Cosmin Negoita, and I'm a product designer. I've recently built and launched the BETA version of Scam Alert, a platform that allows people to report and check crypto projects for potential scams. **Useful links:** 🌍 Website: [www.scamalert.io](https://www.scamalert.io) 💬 Chat: [www.t.me/scamalert\_talk](https://www.t.me/scamalert_talk) ⚙️ Development log: www.t.me/scamalert\_dev **You can see an example here:** [https://www.scamalert.io/token/0xb04ef3b613f2f4634d970807d16665cff7a4472b](https://www.scamalert.io/token/0xb04ef3b613f2f4634d970807d16665cff7a4472b) **How it works?** A person wishes to invest in token X. Before making a buy, they paste the token X contract address on Scam Alert. Upon hitting enter, our platform will look for both user-curated as well as automatically detected red flags. This helps the potential investor understand the risk they're about to take. If someone has already been scammed or spotted any suspicious activity, they can connect their wallet and report issues regarding the token. **Why do we need this?** While there already are automatic rug checkers out there, they can only check for technical aspects of a token. Sometimes we need to look for other red flags such as information consistency, level of plausibility, shady transactions or dev-controlled events. The only way to find out about those things is to allow others that spot them first to report. This problem is partially solved with subreddits like this or Telegram groups, but sometimes this can be very time consuming and not everyone can reach those places. With an actual platform and brand, we can create an authority where people go first before spending any money on tokens. I'd love to hear your feedback or questions!
