[San Diego] My name change was dismissed and I'm not sure why Location: San Diego, CA If there's a better subreddit for me to post this to, let me know Hi folks, I'm a trans guy and have been waiting months for the judge to finally sign off on my papers to change my name and gender legally. While I was out of town, I apparently was given notice of a hearing for why my case should not be dismissed (which I missed because again I was out of town and didn't receive this letter until I came back). Apparently I had an issue with my petition: "The Court identified issues with your Petition for Recognition of Change of Gender and Sex Identifier and Change of Name and Issuance of New Certificates (NC-300). The petition needs to be amended to address the following, 1) NC-300 section 4. is marked but you have filed NC-125. Please correct and resubmit." I'm not really sure what that means. I did select 4 because that is where I put what I want to change my name to in order to conform to my gender identity; I actually had that form rejected from the clerk before because I had forgotten to mark that and put my name there. the only things I marked on 4 were 4a(1) which says that the SD court is the right court to petition for my name change because I reside in SD county, and 4c because I did have NC-110 attached to the form. To me, it sounds like I wasn't supposed to file NC-125, but on the Self-Help court website for CA, [it says to include NC-125](https://selfhelp.courts.ca.gov/gender-recognition/gender-name-adult/fill-forms). I'm really pissed and kind of bummed this happened because I could've gone in and gotten my case not dismissed, but the one time I finally leave town for a few days, this comes in the mail while I was gone. I was gone for 4 days. It says they mailed this notice out on May 26th but my roommate told me it came in the mail while I was gone, likely this Monday or Tuesday. Do I just have to refile and wait another 4 months to get this rejected a
