I was approached by someone purporting to be the Translation Manager at Apex Publishing Services, currently preparing for an upcoming project requiring an experienced English ? Italian translator. Allegedly found my contact information through the Institute of Translation and Interpreting, which is in the UK. Then they sent the file to translate, a short story by Mark Twain, a purchase order for 2,000 in pound sterling, and my address. When I delivered the translation, I was asked to provide my banking details, which I did not. They provided 2 links https://t.me/Michael_Arthur5 and https://signal.me/#eu/lcrdbgP3HXoMt0ArPYHsljd for me to contact with payment preferences. The links are fake. I told them so, and they suggested I call a "Payment Manager" on WhatsApp at +44 7832 391901. This is a very dangerous scam, as we freelance translators are always looking for new projects.
