I was scrolling on instagram when a Dicks Sporting Goods (or so I thought) ad popped up and said that they were having a massive UGGs sale and they were as low as $14 (which should have thrown me off to begin with but the website was EXTREMELY convincing). I only didn’t purchase because I needed to change card info and I felt too lazy to do so in the moment, and I am so glad I did. The sale has originally stated it would only last 29 hours long so I felt pressured to buy quickly but my laziness caused me to just forget about it but I had sent the site to friend for her to also take advantage of said “sale”. She has later told me that the site wouldn’t open for her and she couldn’t access it. Later on I tried to resend it to her but I could no longer find the site so I just googled it but when I did I came across the actually Dicks site and of course the sale was no where to be found. Then, thinking that I had just missed the sale I attempted to open the link I had previously sent to be friend and to my “luck” it worked and the sale was still there by this time I’d had already been about two days and the timer on the sale was gone but they sale was still ongoing. So as confused as I was I still believe it and I proceed to add 2 pairs of UGGs to my cart, but just before purchasing the urge to double check the site’s credibility overcame me and I spent about 2 minutes looking up the email and phone number linked to the site and sure enough they were said to be connected to scammers. So glad I was able to avoid that and I hope that this helps many others prevent this from happening to them!!
