I have been receiving multiple at least 5 daily from a debt consolidation company called Spruce River Lending. I had continued to ignore these messages because the phone number was blocked as spam. I decided to call to have my number removed and they wanted to verify my information. They had my most recent home address but had an email from a job I worked over 20 years ago. They advised the web address was spruceriver.com I believe was the address they provided after I attempted to verify multiple times. They wanted to do a "soft" check of my credit to verify my unsecured debt. Claiming they were given my info from a third party for assistance in paying off debt. I happened to be on my laptop during the call and couldn't verify their validity. Eventually the rep hung up on me. I called back today because I received two more messages already today asking to be removed and the rep told me "NO". I said what did you say and he replied, you heard me, I said NO. Both reps I spoke with were foreigners, but the messages left are non-foreigners with names of celebrities or just common names. The names change daily but remain the same all day.
