Can I be sued for using a domain name like "starbuckstorontoreviews.com"? I posted a review of the local franchise of an international business online on Yelp and the business tried really hard to get the review taken down, but couldn't. Yelp reviews are limited to 5K characters so I recounted extra details about my experience and about their efforts to get it taken down on a website I set up - the domain name is similar to starbuckstorontoreviews.com where the brand name is the name of this business. I specifically put text on the homepage that said I was not affiliated with the business. In talking to the business, they told me that they were going to sue me if I didn't take down the site. I know the law says I can't use a name that is "confusingly similar" but I would think that using "reviews" implies that you are not the business itself. Can I be sued for simply having the name of the business in the domain name? FWIW, I noticed that applereviews.com is up and is a legitimate site. I'm in Canada, FYI.
