Be careful of phishing scams when using Ledger Live Hello everyone, I wanted to share my experience with a phishing scam that I fell for while trying to install Ledger Live on my new laptop. I had been excited about the Flare airdrop and hadn't used my Ledger in a while, but I never thought I would be a victim of a scam. My default search engine on the Edge browser is Bing and the top result it showed me was a phishing site. The website and the app everything looked legit and it was the first link when I searched for "ledger live install" on Bing. I should have just used Google to search. When I connected my Ledger to my phone, it told me to update the firmware but to keep my passphrase handy. I did as instructed and then connected to the fake desktop app and it threw a real error code that took me to the Ledger forums. I eventually assumed that since my phone app asked me to keep my passphrase handy, this should be something similar too. And within a flash, almost all of my XRP was gone. I had only gotten the Ledger for the airdrop 2 years ago and now my Flare tokens are worth only 70$ or so while I lost almost all of my XRP. I want to warn others to be vigilant and use Google to search when using Ledger Live. I have reported this to Ripple but I want to know if there is anything else that can be done. I see so many others like me being scammed online and it really sucks. Can we not do anything at all to recover any funds? I know I was tricked and stupid to do what I did but it is still a crime/theft right? This is the phishing website Bing sent me to: https://start-ledger.com/ Be careful out there, stay safe and keep your funds safe. Update: I have shared the account that the XRP was transferred to in the comments. Thanks!
