I contacted [email protected] to ask if a specific firearm was in stock. They immediately answered yes. I put in an order and received an email stating payment options ie Venmo, Apple Pay, Chille, etc. I have never used any of these. I chose Apple Pay. I made the payment of $687.00. A couple days later, I received an email from a shipping company called swiftcargologisticsltd.com. They said they needed $350.00 for a refundable insurance. I emailed czgunsusa regarding this unusual request. They said this is normal procedure. So I paid it. Red flag for me was the email address: [email protected] . An hour later, they emailed me requesting another $499.99 for customs and Los Angeles city permits. At this point, I realized I was being scammed. I did not make this payment. They continued to email stating that I needed to act urgently, that they were going to tack on penalties, that they were going to have to turn the firearm over to some kind of authorities. After not responding to them, both fraudulent companies emailed me asking if I was online, asking if I was ok, telling me to send my payment at my convenience. After I sent the $350.00, I called my financial institution and they deleted my cards. I called Apple Pay, and there is nothing they can do. I willingly handed scammers money. So lesson learned. I have ordered many things online and never experienced this. I should have seen red flags ie no phone number, no address, unusual payment options (most businesses accept credit cards), fake shipping company with fake tracking numbers.
