The scam was a social media post that popped up on my wives social media sharing about a ladies daughter and how they got an alleged deal for a $10 Christmas tree from the Home Depot website. They commented the link which I have submitted and the tree was listed for 9.99. A day or two later, my wife’s account was charged $49.99. She put her email in for the $9.99 charge but received no email receipt. When she received the $49.99 charge, the she received a receipt from an email called ( [email protected] ). She contacted their support and she asked if they are Filipino because she is too and she recognized their accent. The business was in UK. The business address at the bottom of their email was listed as 3000 El Camino REAL STE 200, 94306 Palo Alto CA United States. I the husband demanded they refund her. They sent us a fake tracking number with no way to verify or look it up. I have a background in IT and searched thewoofsey.com on virus total and Fortinet flagged them as phishing. Unfortunately my wife did all of this before I could stop her. Please prevent this scam from others.
