Community Reports

I went on the Discount Tires website to "price" a pair of tires because I have a membership with them. I then checked out some other competitors and found a better price for 4 tires rather than 2. I then had these 4 tires delivered to my home within a few days and had them installed at a competitor. A week later while checking my bank account I noticed a pending charge from a website called Tires.com for over $200 pending in that very day. I checked that website and it led me to Discount Tires. I called my bank and had the transaction flagged which shut down my debit card to protect from further transactions. The very next day I get an email from Discount Tire with a receipt for a service earlier that day for 2 tires that were installed earlier in the afternoon while I was at his sleep. The transaction was for the vehicle that had already gotten 4 new tires installed somewhere else a week ago. The receipt had my name, address, last four of my debit card and the same tires I looked at on their Discount Tires website over a week ago. I NEVER purchased the tires. I went to Discount Tires and address my concern with the store manager and they couldn't figure it out. They said it has never happened before. I sure hope not which is why I felt the need to bring it to the attention of the BBB. The issue was resolved and the money was placed back into my account, but that was weird. Now I have to wait for a new bank card. [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Tires.com aka Discount Tires Date Re] [Location: Charlotte, NC, USA - 28216]
