I purchased a Spartan Red Light Cap directly from the company’s website (try-spartan.com) using my credit card. The original shipment from China weighed 10.8 oz, consistent with a complete device and packaging. The product includes a non-replaceable internal battery, which failed after only a few months and would no longer hold a charge. I contacted the company for a replacement under their stated policy. Spartan claimed to send a replacement, but the package that arrived was a 1-ounce bubble-wrap envelope containing only a USB cable. The underlying Chinese label (visible beneath the relabeled U.S. sticker) listed the weight as 0.05 kg (50 g), making it physically impossible for the package to contain the product. After reporting this, Spartan claimed to send another replacement. The second shipment was identical—a 1-ounce envelope, again containing only a USB cable, again marked 0.05 kg on the underlying label. I retained photos of both envelopes, labels, and contents. Only after I filed a third complaint and provided photographic proof did Spartan issue a refund to my credit card. The pattern of sending low-value items instead of the purchased product appears deceptive and may affect other consumers. I am requesting that BBB record this complaint to warn others.
