Possible Paypal scam Background: I use sites like uploaded.net and rapidgator to download files. To not have to use a captcha and then wait 60 seconds, you can purchase a premium account that also removes any cap on how much you can download. Because there is copyrighted material on these download sites, Paypal won't allow these sites to use their services to sell premium accounts. I'm not giving some random website my credit card number, so I end buying second-hand accounts on places like eBay. I have been doing this for a few years without issue. The issue: For about the past year, a certain process happens every single time I buy an account this way. I pay the user through Paypal and they send me the login information like usual. But now within a week or so, I get an email telling me they need to provide a refund and then I should pay the same amount to a different Paypal account. They give a variety of reasons from they have been accidentally locked out the account I paid to they simply gave me the wrong account in the first place. These are different resellers each time and not the same person so there is obviously something not right here. I am personally not out any additional money but feel as though I'm being used for some purpose. Could it be money laundering? The amount is typically under $20 US so they would need to repeat this process many times if that was the case. Are they scamming Paypal somehow?
