I gave my SSN to a shady company, please help. First of all, I feel like the biggest idiot right now. I saw an ad on facebook about this company that will forgive all your student loans, some bullshit. I called the number and spoke with "Kevin". Sounded too good to be true. I ended up giving him my address, dob, and my social security number. In the end he told me There was a $500 fee and I said I would need to think about it and hung up. Immediately had a bad feeling about it. Am I over-thinking this? I'm really hoping they were just out to get the fee from me and that this isn't some kind of identity theft or something crazy.
