I think my wife got scammed today, what can we do before we lose anything? My wife owes some student loans, and she isn't working so they've gone to default. Some guy calls today from ersinc.com and says he is working with the department of education to get her out of default and then she can do the rest on her own with a different collections agency or whatever. He knew her name and phone number and address, and he told her how much she owed, which was pretty close to right, and told her that he could settle for 60 dollars per month for 9 months and then she is out of default. He said it has to be done now before the new things come out on July 1st from the government. She believed him. He somehow managed to get the bank card number from her and got her to sign [this form by emailing it to her. ](http://i.imgur.com/tKu5olK.png) That goes to [this website](http://www.veri-tax.com) which may be a legit place, I don't know, but after looking up that company, I see a lot of complaints on them not really being a collections for the DOE. That form gave them access to our damn tax returns. What can we do? I cant see the actual document that she electronically signed. We already called the bank, and we both have credit monitoring thanks to Target, but is there anything else we need to look out for? Help!
