Vista: My admin account has turned into a user account, and can't copy paste files. I'm hoping you guys can help. Not only has my admin account turned into a user account, but I can't copy or move any file anywhere on the drive using explorer. I can still create new files using "Right Click -> New -> Text Document". I can also delete files. I CAN copy and move files if I use an Open File dialog in another program, for example, from Notepad++. **Laptop Specs:** * MS Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2 * AMD Athlon Dual-Core QL-64, 4.0GB RAM **Things I've tried so far:** * sfc /scannow, and the output from that: c:\Windows\System32>sfc /scannow Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection **found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them.** Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log c:\Windows\System32> This seems a likely culprit, however I can't make heads or tails of the log output to find out which files it was unable to repair. Any ideas on this one? * resetting some registry keys with a .reg file found in this forum: [Cannot Rename or Move a File or Folder in Vista Fix](http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/130137-cannot-rename-move-file-folder-vista-fix.html). * scans with Spybot, AVG, Malwarebytes. Malwarebytes detected and removed these items: * c:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Roaming\GabPath (Adware.Agent) * c:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Roaming\microsoft\Windows\start menu\Programs\antimalware doctor (Rogue.AntiMalwareDoctor) * c:\zrpt.xml (Malware.Trace) * c:\Users\Ryan\AppData\Roaming\GabPath\config.cfg * I tried enabling and logging in as the built in system Administrator (net user administrator /active:yes). I still couldn't copy or paste anywhere. The Admin can't change permissions anywhere. [Here I am trying to change
