Mysterious phantom audio notification — Spent days digging, need advanced help Hi everyone, I’ve been dealing with a highly frustrating phantom audio notification on my Windows PC for a few days now. I have spent days digging into this, running deep diagnostics, and brainstorming with Claude and Gemini to analyze logs, but we are officially stuck. Here are the facts and the strange behaviors I've observed, along with everything I've already tried in vain to avoid chasing false leads: * **Completely Random Rhythm:** The timing makes no sense. Sometimes the sound triggers right when I open an application. Sometimes it happens when the PC has been completely idle and untouched for several minutes. It can fire multiple times in a row, and then nothing happens for over an hour. * **Bypasses Notification Settings:** Turning off Windows system notifications entirely does absolutely nothing. The sound still plays. * **Independent Volume:** Lowering or muting "System Sounds" in the Windows Volume Mixer has **no effect** on this specific chime. Its volume remains constant and unaffected. * **Browser Traces Cleared:** I completely uninstalled Chrome and revoked notification permissions for every single website on my main browser (Opera). The sound still occurs. * **Deep Cleaned:** Ran RKill, AdwCleaner, Malwarebytes full PC analysis, Windows Defender full PC analysis and manually purged old software remnants (DriverBooster, IOBit, etc ...). Location: North Carolina My son has been bullied on multiple occasions, I know my son isn't perfect, and can cause issue but a child that has been very hands on my son as well as others. A child riding fast on a heaby tricycle bike, aiming toward my son, then jumping off while the bicycle continues moving toward him is at minimum reckless and unsafe behavior. I brought up the incident as a concern, noted that my child isn't perfect at times, and also asked if there was an incident Report. The daycare director and assistant director is labeling me as aggressive, belligerent, belittling and even to the point they said the staff member that I thougjt we were having a conversation with was apparently afraid to walk to her car. They also have restricted me from picking up my children.
