Possible Victim of Catfishing Exploitation. Please Help! Like an idiot I sent some pics and a video to a person that was catfishing on OK cupid. They have my first name, address, and phone number. I don't have my face in any of the pics or video and I've locked down all my social media profiles so nobody can find me if they wanted to from that information. However, since they have my address, they could easily take a look at my mail and pick up my last name and place of employment. Judging from the emails they sent me, they are familiar with the area that I live, so that's a real worry of mine. My place of employment is easily found through googling my name and there's no real way I can prevent that. I'd rather not they threaten to send these things to my coworkers and boss unless I send them money or something like that. I'm contemplating trying to pick up their IP. They don't know that I'm on to them yet. I'm thinking of sending them a link via wherestheirip.com disguised as a link to a video hosting service, saying that it's a striptease for them. I can't just pick it up from their emails because it looks like they're using some sort of encryption for their emails. I figure if I have their IP I can prevent them from even thinking of blackmailing me. However I'm not sure that this would work. Any thoughts, besides how much of a moron I must be for falling for this and giving out so much information? I'm probably overreacting but I don't want to risk it.
