These people reach out via text claiming easy remote work. When you bite, they direct you to a website (https://work.commercepundittop.com/home) and run you through ‘training’ to use their system. You are supposedly fake purchasing items from retailers to boost their product visibility in searches. When you first start, you have to put in some of your own money ($100) and they explain you do this because AI can’t actually make the purchases, but you do it and you get the money right back. And you do for a while, but then they start presenting you with more expensive items (these are randomly presented so you have no control over what you are ‘buying’) and you have to put more money in to complete the transaction. This works a few times, until they start presenting you with expensive items often, which requires you to deposit money more often. It basically feels like a slot machine. The house wins. Not you.
