Get a bogus collection letter for Hollywood Video late fees? DO NOT PAY IT. Read this... So, a week ago I got a collection letter from A.R.M. Solutions out of Camarillo, Ca. Apparently they have used many different companies. My first thought was "No fucking way." So I began digging. I came across 6-7 articles, all of which you can find just by googling the terms "bogus hollywood video late fees". I have good credit, and also knew something fishy was going on. So I checked this A.R.M places BBB, and loooo and behold, even if you file a complaint with "GO SUCK EGGS, WHORE BEHEMOTH.", you get the stock response of "we have closed your account and ceased all collection activity. We have not and will not report this matter to the credit bureaus." Clearly, whether you had late fees or not, this company is just trying to strong-arm people who get such a letter and say "OH SHIT! did i? it's been three years! I don't remember! Better to just pay this." Do not fall prey to such assholery. Write your BBB reports, and spread this far and wide, Reddit!
