Hello, I would like to report a Scam. I called the Verizon phone number yesterday to request a technician for my property, since we have a low hanging wires, which belong to Verizon. The phone number is: +1 800-922-0204. No one was sent to my property, but instead the man on another line asked me for my SSN, birth date (just to be sure I have right to make this request) and he finally asked me for my credit card number (to have $15 hold on it, in case I am not at home when technician arrives). No one sent any technician to my property, instead they made two fraudulent charges on my Discover card: 1. $1.00 and 2. $72.00. Please help. Verizon Wireless Extended Warranty Fraud - Check Your Monthly Statement If you have Verizon Wireless, check your monthly statement to see if you have a charge for "Extended Warranty" even though you did not sign up for it. I have had Verizon Wireless for many years and every time I renew my 2 year contract, I would tell the Rep that "I DO NOT WANT EXTENDED WARRANTY." Recently, I got another line and cell phone for work, so I looked at my most recent Verizon Wireless statement. To my surprise, I see a monthly charge for $3 for Extended Warranty. That is $6 monthly on two lines. When I called Verizon Wireless customer support, they informed me that this feature has been there for many years every time I renewed. "It's in your contract." Even though I explicitly told the Verizon Wireless Rep at the store that I did not want Extended Warranty, he still puts it in. Verizon Wireless' stand on this is that it is the consumer's responsibility to read the entire contract with the fine print before we sign it and they will not make amends for their Reps fraudulant and unethical sales practices. Tell everyone you know who has Verizon Wireless to review their monthly statement and look for a charge for Extended Warranty. If you did not sign up for it, call Verizon Wireless 1-800-922-0204 and ask to speak to Robert, a floor supervisor Employee ID #125365, to have the feature removed and get a reimbursement or credit for all the months you have been fradulantly billed. Contact your local Consumer Protection agency in your city or State. Verizon Wireless does not have an email for such issues.
