I was hired for an at home delivery job. Gave all my personal info and banking info. After a month of working I was locked out of my online account. I was supposed to be compensated 5000 after completing the work and was never paid. The phone number no longer works for me as I believe I was blocked. I’ve sent multiple emails and no response from anyone. I believe the job and website was a scam. Dollars Lost [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: Beacon Crate] [Location: KY, USA- 42301]

The website and its marketing tells you that you can get a free QR code generated to link to your website. After I created my code and submitted it to be used to printed posters, I started getting emails that this QR code was expiring unless I paid. This is their pricing: https://qrcodecreator.com/dashboard/pricing I chose $15.88 per month (for more than 3 QR codes) but they only allow annual purchases which = $186.96. The “billed annually” disclaimer is so small and in grey print. I contacted customer support for a refund - I got an autoreply from a chat person: We understand the importance of resolving your concerns promptly and are currently reviewing your refund request to ensure it is handled with the utmost care and accuracy. Please allow up to 3 business days for our team to complete the review. Once the investigation is finalized, we will follow up with an update regarding yatr refund status. Questions about Thunderbird email client Hey guys, what do you think about Thunderbird? I've been looking at Rob Braxman early 2019 vids and he says Thunderbird is recommended as a email client. He says it protects from beacon attacks and thus tracking your IP address, thus that's why he recommends Thunderbird. Does Tutanota, 33mail, SimpleLogin and Anonaddy protect against this and how are they different to using Thunderbird (+ pros and cons)?

Richard Heart is a scammer and here is why Richard Heart is a delusional guy. He believes he invented the best crypto in the world with hex. I remember first hearing about hex when Richard Heart appeared on Ivan on techs Good morning crypto episode on YouTube. Hearing him talk about high 3.69% interest, I thought this interest is not at all impressive. In crypto, interest rates around 10% or higher are very common. And before the financial crisis, you sometimes got 5% interest rates on deposits. But more importantly, the interest is payed by minting new coins. Why is this important? Because minting does not require any work, so it does not add any value. So I thought of hex as being a worthless project, but not a scam. That changed when I saw the hex website. It was so full of nonsense. Here is what Richard Heart said on the website. 1. Hex is faster and cheaper than bitcoin. This is crap because hex runs on ethereum, so hex does not control the speed and the fees. Sure, at that time, ethereum transactions were faster and cheaper. But that was the case for any ERC20 token. So all ERC20 tokens are better than bitcoin then? Currently, gas fees on ethereum are extremely high. So hex has a problem now, more than other cryptos, as interest calculations of hex are very expensive. 2. Bitcoin had two inflation bugs. Alright, hex is a smart contract, so you cannot compare it to a blockchain. Besides, bitcoin has been running for 10 years and hex was not even launched yet. So bugs could still be discovered. But you can't even compare. It's like comparing Tic-Tac-Toe running on JavaScript to the unix operating system. Makes no sense comparing two things that are on completely different levels. 3. Bitcoin has not been audited, while hex has 3 audits. Again, you can't compare a few lines of code of a smart contract to a whole blockchain. Like, now he is starting pulsechain, which also will not have any audits. 4. Bitcoin is bad for the environment. Hex runs on ethere

Can anybody help me understand how tracking beacons in emails actually know what email is contacting their servers ? That seems like a dumb question, but I’ll try to explain further. You open up an email, and the tracking beacon calls back to the remote server where they store your IP address , user agent and whatever. But how does that server know it was from pubh12@gmail, for example? I’ve been reading about how maybe the email or hashed form of the email is contained in the URL of the referrer? Is that how it’s done? Maybe I’m just misunderstanding how easy it is for the email to be stored along with the IP address and user agent etc when you open an email with a tracking pixel. Can anyone help me understand this?

To all friends new and old... Hi everyone. Last week Monday, June 1ST 2021, I like so many of you, became a victim of Sextortion. I'm 20 years old, in school, have a job, never ever been in a relationship, but pretty decent looking. Anyway, what happened was, I was chilling in my room, went on FB, and saw I had a friend request from this cute-looking girl. The account seemed legit, it had comments, real pictures, and to top it all off, they were friends of some of my other friends. So I thought, *what they hey?* I'll accept back, cuz why not? Then about a half-hour later, I get a DM from them via Messenger. They made a story about being from the Philippines and living in Australia working. I asked IMMEDIATELY for their age, they replied '22'. So I thought, *let's go, 22? Niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice* (Joespeh Joestar). Looking back, if I woulda knew about how mainstream philippine sextortionists are, I woulda never talked to them but that's beside the point. We talked for a good couple of hours, and their English was very good. Very few errors. However, I was still a tad skeptical about the whole thing. Like why me, you know? Then later things got spicier per se, they then asked to do a video call to you know... I was extremely hesitant at first, but they were very persuasive and I was lonely, desperate for love and sex, and depressed, so I did it. Looking back, the whole thing seemed like a pre-recorded live stream than anything else, we both agreed to be quiet so we still texted each other through messenger with dirty talk. Then about mid-call, they sent me a recording of me going to town on myself and threatened to send it to ALL of my friends via FB, as well as requested accounts and suggested friends of mine. Naturally, I was scared shitless. I couldn't breathe. It was the scariest moment of my life BY FAR. They kept on texting and harassing me with these horrible texts in all caps. "YOUR LIFE IS OVER", YOU'LL LOSE EVERYTHING, YOUR VIDEO WILL GO VIRAL" if I didn't

Trademark Advice? I have a clothing company that will launch soon and I was wondering if I should trademark the name and logo. I know reddit has quite a few smart people and I always said if I ever needed a lawyer I would go to reddit first. I'm really just unsure what a trademark protects. Does it just protect the logo or the words inside the logo also. If my logo is say...the name of my company. Are both protected under the trademark and if someone copies one or both I have a legal right to tell them to stop and or stop them with the law on my side? So please enlighten! Thanks Reddit in advance, you are a beacon of hope in a world of nincompoops.
