I get dozens of calls per day from different numbers "National Lending" "Better Debt Solutions" etc. It is driving me insane, my phone rings constantly morning to night. This is the parent company of a number of companies that attempt scam calls; the initially received call/voicemail uses an AI voice, offering loans and loan extensions (in an example voicemail I received, they offered a $56,000 loan). The AI will then connect you with an actual human representative who will then offer the previous loan and will ask for various pieces of personal information including card information or a Social Security Number. Upon asking for more information about the company itself, such as for where their headquarters is or an email address to contact them with, the representative will end the call. Each call received from the scammers utilizes a different number, which causes simply blocking the number to not be feasible. While I have not personally attempted to verify whether their loan offers are legitimate, their marketing tactics are clearly in violation of the TCPA. Any attempts to prevent contact from the company and its related businesses have proven to be unsuccessful. Whenever prompted during a call to be placed on a “do not call” list, the option does nothing, and they have continued to call me upwards of 3 times per day for months. [US] I think my Dad is getting into a debt refinance scam? To make a long story short, My dad is in debt. The reasons for this debt are credit cards, college, and other things im not entirely up to date on. Recently, he has decided to consolidate his debt, and to afford to pay it off, he is mortgaging his home. While to me, who doesnt know anything about how one pays off the debts he has, I assumed everything was RELATIVELY normal. That was, until one day he complained to me how his schedule was packed full of errands, mentioning how he was having to mail off the payments himself, as opposed to the people who he is working with. He said that they messed up somewhere with mailing checks out or something, but he wasnt very specific.. Perhaps im being overly worried, given my lack of understanding in regards to debt solutions, but I have a gut feeling.. Please, feel free to give me advice or ask clarifying questions.. I get 10+ calls a day from Marissa Morgan calling from underwriting to discuss my approval. I have tried to answer and request to be taken off the list but it is an automatic voicemail drop that just keeps talking. For the love of God I dont want these phone calls any more. Accelerated Debt Solutions was to represent me in reduction of credit card debt. They took $8000 on one of my cards, and I was told I would be able to recoup the money. I couldn't get in touch. When I do answer the call, it is an automated AI recording, and when I try to take myself off the call list by pressing 9, it does not work and they keep calling.
