Several weeks ago I was notified by Sac County that I needed to renew my Fictitious Business Name and that it would be expiring soon. I went online, printed the form, and mailed it in with my $51.15 fee. This week, I received a notice via postal mail from the Fictitious Business Name Renewal Center requesting I fill out the enclosed form and mail $159.00 to 2740 Fulton Avenue, Suite 203, Sacramento, CA 95821. This is a different address than the one on the official form found online. I believe this to be a scam. Please shut them down. Called and left a voicemail for my daughter from a Colorado number with an 855 number to call. Stated they had documents from Fulton county to sign. They called the day prior saying they would come to my daughters address the following day and then called the morning of with the time frame they would be there. They did not tell me their name or the name of their business. Just call the plaintiff…. Really? They must not know what a plaintiff is. They had a case number. They said she was officially notified. If that was the case then why come over? Also servers do not really need signatures. I can imagine someone would be worried from a call like this.
