Im at an impass. So my wife and I just purchased a vehicle. I had a personal load rolled into the new financing at new apr. Dealer (Coggin Buick), paid old lender (Reprise financial) But they are telling me they have a different address and are continuing too bill. Ive called the dealer, they said they paid, which I believe and they told me to contact the lender and my bank, and tell my bank not to push through any further payments. My bank (community first credit union of FL) said thats costs 35$ and my account is overdrawn so they cant do anything to prevent this. Meanwhile what information I got from the lender (reprise) was very sketchy, they had a new po box to send to, (the old address) a new address to send too overnight, and when i asked what the old po was on file they put me on hold got back with a new rep that promised me I wouldnt be billed.... Where do I even go? Location: Florida.
Just found out my younger siblings identity was stolen. Please help My younger sister was trying to apply for her first credit card and did not get approved. She tried twice and did not know why she was not getting approved. I told her let’s check your credit reports, thank goodness I did. Someone used her identity to open up a Capital One credit card under her name in November 2025. Charged the card to $500 (probably the limit considering she had no credit before this, lol) - and well of course they didn’t make monthly payments and now it’s been sent to collections. I noticed as well there was an address attached to the credit card on the credit report - this year, in Jan 2026, someone updated her address to that same address used prior. I am not sure if this is the persons actual address, it’s an Indiana address, and it appears to be a rental property so who even knows. So far, we have frozen her credit for Experian and Equifax - Transunion we are doing tomorrow (login issues have to call to resolve). We went to identitytheft.gov and filed a report as well and explained what happened but our details are limited right now. We also need to call Capital One tomorrow (they are closed atm, it’s midnight) and report it and get the account closed and taken back from collections. Advice here please, not sure what else to do. Will she need to file a police report? Get a new SSN? Anything else I am missing?
Data removal options I had my identity stolen this month, first credit card was compromised at the beginning of the month, another was used yesterday (different account than the first) both have been changed and updated, ive always been vigilant of card usage to the point where every transaction from every card i get a text and done that since texting was a thing. ive already frozen all my credit scores, filed id theft reports, ic3 reports, have a police report and been working on catching the guy and and finally have an address so hopefully an arrest very soon. Trying to prevent this from happening again. Early last year i got a missed jury duty scam call and dude had me believing it for about 30 minutes, even as a big fan of scammer payback and kitboga looking back on the call i should of caught all the scammer signs but i was already having a bad day so i wasnt thinking clearly but i eventually caught on and ended the call. After that i signed up for incogni to try and stop most of the calls i honestly still havent seen much of a difference. i was recently a victim in a databreach from a previous job getting hacked so this year so i renewed my incogni but still seeing almost no difference in amount of scam calls and now my identity has been stolen. Any good alternatives to incogni that youve had experience with?
