Letter for a “Final Notice” received in mail with ‘personalized’ details (nothing more than the basic information obtained from the mailing address, in addition to a made up ‘Customer ID’), written in a way to possibly cause panic and confuse an easily victimized homeowner that may impulsively give away additional personal information to avoid “a potential lapse in the coverage of their property’s home warranty [ending in a few days from the send date]” [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Guaranteed Rate INC] [Location: Manchester, CT, USA - 06040]

Thinking about a 2-3 year MYGA in my Roth IRA — good move or not? I'm considering putting a portion of my portfolio into a multi-year guaranteed annuity (MYGA) with a 2-3 year term and wanted to get some thoughts from this community. My reasoning: With inflation ticking back up to 3.3% in March and the Fed holding rates at 3.5-3.75% with only modest cuts expected, it seems like locking in a guaranteed rate for a short term could make sense — especially compared to money market or CD rates that will likely drift lower if/when cuts come. A few things I'm weighing: Rate environment — MYGAs are currently offering competitive rates. Is now a good window before rates start dropping? Liquidity trade-off — Giving up access to funds for 2-3 years. Worth it for the guaranteed return? Tax-free growth — My plan is to hold the MYGA inside my Roth IRA, meaning qualified withdrawals would be completely tax-free. Since MYGAs already offer tax deferral as a built-in feature, I'm wondering if that benefit is essentially redundant inside a Roth — or if there are other compelling reasons to still pair them together. Surrender charges — Want to make sure I understand the fine print before committing. One thing that's already tripping me up — I can't find MYGAs anywhere on the Fidelity website. Am I missing something, or does Fidelity not offer them directly? If not, where are you all shopping for MYGAs? Curious if people are using third-party sites like Blueprint Income, Stan the Annuity Man, or going directly to carriers. A few specific questions about holding a MYGA in a Roth: Does the Roth wrapper eliminate the usual tax deferral advantage of a MYGA, making it a less compelling combo? Are there any custodian or IRS restrictions on holding a MYGA inside a Roth IRA? Does the MYGA term need to align with RMD rules, or does the Roth's no-RMD advantage make that a non-issue? Any gotchas people have run into with this strategy? Has anyone here done this — held a MYGA inside a

“Final Notice: Immediate response required” letter regarding a home warranty. The letter mentions Guaranteed Rate several times to make it look like it is from that mortgage company, but at the bottom in tiny print says “we are not affiliated with your mortgage lender” Asking multiple times to call the number immediately so the coverage does not expire [BBB Scam Type: Credit Cards] [Business: Guaranteed Rate] [Location: TX, USA- 76063]
