Fired by AT&T for alleged time fraud over 4-minute clock-in differences after filing a retaliation complaint — do I have a case? I am a former Retail Sales Consultant at AT&T, covered under a CWA collective bargaining agreement. I was recently terminated and I believe it was retaliation. Here is the sequence of events. After my store manager gave me incorrect information about my paid sick leave that resulted in disciplinary hours on my record, and after my overtime hours were not properly recorded, I contacted my union representative. My union representative requested a formal grievance meeting with my store manager. Immediately following that grievance meeting, my store manager cut my hours from 40 per week down to 24 per week. Every other part time employee had their requested hours restored except me. I was the only employee who contacted the union. After I verbally was promised my hours back, my manager reversed it by text message and stated in writing that since I knew what I was doing I should involve whoever I needed to involve. I then filed a formal internal complaint through the company ethics hotline reporting retaliation, scheduling favoritism, and hostile work environment. After my internal complaint was closed without any remedy, the same manager who was the subject of my complaint initiated a disciplinary investigation against me for alleged time fraud. The allegation was based on time reporting variances as small as four minutes that fell within the company grace period, during a period when the electronic time system was not working and I was instructed to report my hours manually to my supervisor. No progressive discipline was applied. Other employees engaged in more serious time related conduct without any investigation. I was then terminated for alleged falsification of company records. My first disciplinary action that the company cited was administered without my union representative present. The company has also not paid me for hours I act

Michigan landlord charging $120/day late fee on $1,200 rent. Would this actually hold up in court? Location: Lowell, Michigan I'm trying to understand whether this type of late fee is actually enforceable or considered excessive. My rent is $1,200/month and my lease has a 5 day grace period. After the grace period, my landlord says the late fee is $120 PER DAY. I completely understand that being late on rent deserves a penalty, and I’m not trying to avoid responsibility for paying late. I recently lost my job and this month I’m about 10 days late, but I have always communicated with my landlord and I have never just stopped paying rent. I went back through my payment history since moving in during November 2022 and broke it down: • 29 payments were on time or early • 11 payments were within the grace period • Only 3 payments were actually outside the grace period So overall, about 93% of my payments were either on time, early, or still within the grace period. My landlord says I “hardly ever” pay on time, but my receipts don’t really support that. I admit there were a few late payments over the years, including the current one, but I’ve always eventually paid and stayed in communication. The part I’m struggling with is the amount. A $120/day fee means being 10 days late adds another $1,200 in charges on top of the rent itself. Would Michigan courts realistically enforce something like that, or would that likely be viewed as excessive compared to the actual damages caused by late payment?

Genisys Credit Union-review/Experience? No ACH!? CD 4.3% 25month Genisys FCU-- anyone have a CD here? \*4.3%/25m Hi, I wanted to get the CD special they are currently offering at 4.30%/25months. I called customer service and talked to somebody who was certainly nice enough, he let me know that the application to join the credit union is online only, it seems straightforward enough with a $5 donation to arts or arthritis charity, & open up savings account & maintain $5 in it. However he stated that the application for the CD is done via email only. They use DocuSign. But here's where it gets a little confusing for me. The guy stated quite clearly that they are not set up to do ACH transfers, they cannot connect an external account. However he clearly said that to fund the CD they would pull (ACH) from my funding source. He said that's the only time they can do ACH? He then said when the CD matured, like with most of them out there it rolls over into another CD but there is a 10-day grace period to transfer it. To transfer it I have to move it into savings. However they cannot ACH it out. To remove it from savings I can only use a wire transfer which they charge $20 for. He then said if the bank request the wire transfer that there will be zero charge for the outgoing wire. I felt like I was hearing contradicting statements? Clearly they are not set up for ACH per CSR. Yet they can go ahead and pull ACH to fund the CD? All outgoing wire transfers are $20 yet they will let the outside bank request the wired transfer and will not charge for that outgoing? He also went on to say that ACH is always free with them. So yes I was confused. He then said that their ACH should be fully functioning within the next two years?! He said they are a new credit union. But when I looked, it looks like they've been around for a while now? I then asked about IRA account and transferring an inherited account over. He transferred me to the IRA department, and the Rep wanted all so

Found out last month on the 27th that SSA took my federal & state income tax refund as offset for overpayment debt. Called SSA, was told the current balance is over $4,500. What to do? So my 2025 Tax refund amount was to be over $1,100, owed to me. But recently I was hit with an offset notice letter mailed from both the u.s. treasury and state department, primarily listing the social security administration as the entity that took my refund for an overpayment debt that I apparently owed. More than several days later I called SSA, the agent told me that I was given a notice last year of September that I owed over $5,500 in overpayment due to my extended period of elibility from June 2022 to May 2025 when i used to be under SSDI (my local state switched me to MA EPD in early 2025). And that my tax refund reduced it to $4,500, which flabbergasted me. I have not received any benefits since September of 2022 due to me switching jobs in September of 2021 and earning a higher income, which triggered a work trial period that lasted until June 2022. Which then afterwards triggered a 3 month grace period until the end of that September 2022. I really feel that there was a mistake in calculation here and that I shouldn't owe this debt. Hell I even went to my local social security office back in mid 2024 when they notified me a few months earlier on the same year of an overpayment amount of over $1,000 that was due (despite me directly paying them the same amount in 2023 from another prior notice) for further clarification, only to find out that they made a mistake in calculation and was recommend to ignore the notice on thay year. By the end of the call I was emailed a form and suggested an appointment with my local social security office (which is filled up until near the end of june) to settle the overpay situation. So on that note, whats my best approach to take at this point? Beyond pissed rn.

I received a letter in the mail stating that I had a "notice of non compliance" for an address that doesn't even exist. The address that it states that I entered and exited from is 720 Garland Road, Dallas, Tx. The noncompliance is listed as "REGISTERED LATE; AFTER GRACE PERIOD". I don't know what that means and there was no business there, but they have a picture of my car and license plate. Apartment charging me fees I don’t owe Location: OH I (20F) live in an apartment complex in northeast OH; not owned by a landlord by a corporation. Rent is due on the first of each month with a 5-day grace period. I was out of state and couldn’t pay on the first, as I pay by check to avoid convenience fees. I paid on the 5th and by check, entering it into our online portal. I got a text on the 6th that the check didn’t go through, though the money was in my account. I wasn’t provided a reason initially, though later I was told it was due to illegible writing of the number 4. This didn’t make sense to me as you write out the amount of check and my handwriting is very neat. As a result, I was given a late fee. On the 6th, right in the morning and paid the original balance of $604.00. The total was $643.92 with the late fee. Concerned about the late fee, as it was still on my account, I asked if they would make me pay it. I was told no. I had a feeling they would screw me over, so I recorded the conversation of the lady in the leasing office confirming I wouldn’t have to pay it. I went back 2 days later, then two weeks later as the late fee was still on my account. Both times I was told not to worry about the late fee. I have the receipts of my April rent and May rent payment (late fee was still on my account when I paid May 5th). Additionally, my complex requires residents to have renters insurance. I changed policies half way through my lease, but forgot to alert them, which made them give add a $15 fee for lack of insurance. That makes complete sense, however, I’ve let the people who work at the leasing over know in-person verbally and have sent my new policy via email. I let them know end of February 2026, and sent an email March 2026. The email was sent with the email provided to me by the leasing office, the same email I used to send my first insurance policy when I first moved in 2 years ago. However, I’m still being charged. Ik it’s not a lot of money, but I

reasonable temporary remote work accommodation rejected Location: TN Hi! I (24F) have been working in a hybrid customer service role (2 days remote/3 days in person) for nearly a year now. I have great metrics, and am always achieving and exceeding percentages/etc. However, I’ve really let myself and the people who believe in me down by using all my PTO days up to this point for sick days. I’ve been having mysterious but horrible GI problems that I think are tied to some diagnoses I have - generalized anxiety disorder, double depression, & PTSD. Yes, I’ve been officially diagnosed w those and been receiving treatment for years. I’ve realized that my days go way better (and I don’t miss them) when I’m working remote. This is because (as gross as it is, and I’m so glad to not have my real identity tied to this) I can be in the restroom while I work and am having my \~problems\~. The work is emails, texts, and calls - the only time this strategy doesn’t work is for when I’m scheduled on calls, but I just try to save my “unscheduled breaks” (we’re allowed up to 30 min) for call blocks since I know I might need them more then. Anyway. My first accommodation request was with my therapist/psychologist (who has a doctorate, not just a “counselor”) and I was very wishy washy with what I wanted since I was wary to ask for too much since I just started the job. Basically we said I could have some problems with exact timeliness bc of my symptoms, and that I needed breaks. Which of course when I met with HR, they understandably told me they already provided up to 30 min unplanned break time throughout the day and that everyone has a short grace period upon arrival for logging in/getting started with work. So, no accommodations, which I said I was fine with because I wanted to do my best with what I was given of course. Flash forward to me using my PTO days as sick days, and I realize, okay I do need to ask for more specific accommodations. I talked to my group’s manager

Received a Five Day Pay or Vacate Notice After Handing Leasing Office a Cashier’s Check What Do I Do? I’m honestly really stressed and confused right now and I’m planning to go speak to my leasing office tomorrow in person, but I genuinely need outside opinions because this entire situation feels insane to me. Location: Virginia and just received a “Five Day Notice to Pay or Vacate” from my apartment complex even though I followed every instruction they gave me regarding payment. Before rent was even due, I was already trying to contact the leasing office because there was an issue with my resident portal/payment system. Earlier, the portal had incorrectly taken extra charges from my account. For example, this month there was an extra $500 charge that should not have been taken, so I had to contact my bank to review/reverse it. THAT was what caused the returned payment issue on my account, not me refusing to pay rent. My actual rent payment had been paid before the grace period ended. The returned amount was the extra charge that was incorrectly taken through the portal system. I explained all of this to the leasing office before rent was due. I emailed them explaining the returned payment situation, explaining that the e-check option on my portal was no longer available, and telling them that if their system required a “clean payment” first before re-enabling online payments, I was completely willing to do that. I literally told them I was fine paying another way if they would just tell me their preferred payment method. The problem is they basically ignored me until rent was literally due the next day after the grace period. I kept calling the office, emailing, and physically going there trying to get answers. Sometimes nobody was there, and other times the people available were not much help. I’m also a student currently dealing with finals, so this entire process has been extremely stressful and inconvenient. When I finally got a response, they told me the
