Attempting to rebook a flight reservation made through SkyScanner on Austrian Airlines, I somehow contacted an organization which claimed that there was a technical problem with the rebooking, and that it could be resolved by purchasing first class tickets, the cost of which could then be refunded and thus the flights could be rebooked. Close to the time when the refund was supposed to be made, I was contacted in order to address another "technical problem", this time with the refund, accompanied by a request for further "refundable" payments to rectify the "technical problem". At that point, my debit card company reported a flurry of fraudulent activity.
