I was contacted via text from a "Wesley, a Recruiter from 'LINKPEP'" who notified me that my resume had been accepted by the HR Department and that I would be contacted by a "Mr. Huong Vu" via Zoom chat. The next day I received a notification that Mr. Huong Vu was inviting to the meeting, then a text from Wesley reminding me to log in immediately - no forewarning or invitation. What followed was the typical questions - except! "Do you have any credit card debt?" That's what put me over the barrel. I began deep diving into the company, the people listed, the addresses, Mr. Huong Vu (and most of his family members), to discover that although the website appears "verified", there are a lot of unsubstantiated claims-and no other internet activity. Mr. Vu does, in fact, 'exist' (owning property, etc.). The email he logged into Zoom with was also verified, however, there were several alt.1-4.gmail redirects and those emails were flagged at 96% Fraud Risk. These folks are good. Sort of. Oh, update: since typing this I've received two suspicious contacts - one via text from: (512) 564-9506: Mathew Simmons, a recruiter at COMPLYANCE about a Data Entry job. and (313)226-0500: (?) from U.S. Dept. of Homeland Security about a password issued from Germany that had ALL OF MY PERSONAL PERTINANT INFORMATION. ...............seriously??? I'm unemployed. Not dense. And yet, another call comes in.....(989) 296- 1826.....let's see what fun this one brings. [BBB Scam Type: Employment] [Business: LINKPEP] [Location: GA, USA- 30012]
