A man called from 774-828-368-6237 which came in as Unknown. I answered the first call. He was obviously a foreigner trying their very best to do a southern accent, but it was overdone. It was like an over-the-top southern accent with way too much twang to be serious. I was told that he is with the North Carolina Orange County Sheriff Office and that he was working with deputies on my case and that I had missed a court date. I could solve everything if I stayed on the phone with him, drove to Walgreens, purchased $1500 and it went up to $2500 in gift cards and gave him the info then drove to the Orange County Court to finish. I knew it was a scam. Because of a court case, Orange County NC has all my info on public display for the world of scammers to steal and they call me all the time. Orange County never apologizes or helps when these rash of calls takes place and I'm starting to think that someone is Kazakhstan is one of our Orange County NC public officials to scam citizens with impunity. Anyway, I hung up and he called back and told me to call him at a real number 336-496-8467. This is a local Orange County NC number they are using. But I believe that scam call originated in Eastern Europe. .css-1w6dufj{-webkit-box-flex:0;-webkit-flex-grow:0;-ms-flex-positive:0;flex-grow:0;-webkit-flex-basis:auto;-ms-flex-preferred-size:auto;flex-basis:auto;wid [BBB Scam Type: Phishing] [Business: Orange County NC Sheriff Office IMPOSTER] [Location: NC, USA- 27572]
