I called for a locksmith. I was never given a quote. The technician arrived and started drilling through my lock. Then he told me I needed to pay $1300. I said that's insane for a lock. He said that's normal. I looked it up. It isn't. I told him I would pay tomorrow when my paycheck came through. He refused to leave until he received payment. I told them I didn't have $1300, so they brought it down to $1000. Still egregious. When I took a closer look at their website, it was clear that it was not legit. They were asking for Zelle payments, cash app whatever they could get from me. I finally paid $1000 because I was uncomfortable and he wouldn't leave. That's all I had. I was never given a quote or information about cost.
