I was contacted by phone on April 20, 2026, and told I had won a giveaway for a Toyota Supra and $60,000 in cash. The scammers impersonated a legitimate company (80Eighty) and “American Sweepstakes Company.” They pressured me to send money for certificate, registration, and insurance fees in order to receive the prize. While on the phone, they guided me step-by-step to send payments through Zelle and asked for screenshots after each payment. I sent three payments totaling $2,499.99 ($1,199.99, $800, and $500). The scammers were attempting to take a total of $4,999.99 and continued pressuring me to send additional money. The main caller identified himself as “Justin” (likely an alias), and the Zelle recipient name was Daysi Calvillo. I later verified with the real company that no winner had been selected and that they never require payment. I then realized this was a scam. I did not share any passwords, verification codes, or sensitive personal information. Only the Zelle payments were sent. The scammers are still attempting to contact me.
