Community Reports

On March 13, 2026 I was searching for the website for Fitbit.com on my cell phone to try to purchase a replacement watch band for my Fitbit Versa 4 watch. I located what I thought was a phone number for Fitbit.com customer service and clicked the link for the phone. A female recorded voice came on the line and stated that there would be a refundable $5.00 charge for the call and asked for my credit card number which I input. I was then transferred to a live person. I asked if I was calling Fitbit and the male individual responded they are a third party company for Fitbit. I explained that I was searching for a replacement watch band for my Versa 4. The male individual responded that he did not think Fitbit supplied those but could look up where I could purchase them. He responded he could send me a link for them and they could be purchased at Amazon or Walmart. I asked how I could get my $5.00 refunded and he indicated he would send me a link. The Amazon link he sent was not for my type of Fitbit. I never received a link to refund my $5.00 charged to my credit card. When I reviewed my credit card online statement, I see a $60 charge from a company Ask An Expert.com in San Francisco, CA. I reported this incorrect charge to my credit card company and told them I did not authorize that payment on my account. My credit card company issued me a new card, closed the account. On March 17, 2026 I contacted my credit card company after seeing that the charge was paid. I requested that it be disputed as a fraudulent charge. I also called the number for this company (415-202-5633) I saw on my call log to attempt to reach a live person regarding this charge. Instead, a recorded female voice came on stating "you have been charged a monthly membership fee to get answers from techs around the world. Does this answer any questions you may have?" I did not consent to purchasing members [BBB Scam Type: Online Purchase] [Business: Askanexpertonline.com] [Location: MD, USA- 2
