Received a text message from - +1 (470) 906-1972 stating VPS: we're calling regarding a matter in our office. Please call 888-632-9059, and refer to file # xxxxxxxxx. Stop to opt out. When you call the number provided (blocked my number when calling them) they stated "PreLegal Investigation Department can you state your first and last name please" - I did not provide my name. I stated I was an attorney who works for a Financial Institution within the US, and I am requesting the name of the firm they are representing. They were unable to provide that information. They asked if I received legal documentation that was sent to my local police department. I stated I did not. I stated by law they are required to provide me the information I am requesting and as they appear to be attempting to collect a debt they are also required by law to send documentation of the debt to the person they are attempting to contact. They stated this has already been done by the local police department. Clearly it hasn't because I would have been provided this by them by now if they are "texting" me. Never received a phone call or any documentation - they placed me on hold after stating I clearly have a law degree where a man came on the line - aggressive and rude, would not allow me to speak and stated "because you think you are an attorney and want to throw that around like your a tough guy to intimidate us, we WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED! You have been served and we will see you in court! You can clearly represent yourself! Continued to run his mouth and not allow me to speak or even get a word in. I disconnected the phone. There is a level of professionalism that is required by dept collectors and they clearly do not have it and if they are a Prelegal team or department they would not be speaking to anyone this way.
