I was first contacted via email about a job opportunity by a “Jonell Hester.” She then asked for my phone number to call me. She called from the now disconnected phone number +1 (562) 512-5708. She conducted a regular job interview over the phone and it lasted about 10 minutes. She then emailed me back that same day stating that I got the job and sent me a job offer letter. After accepting the job offer, she then sent the standard I-9, W-4 as well as a direct deposit set up form. She said these all looked great and to wait for the Know Your Customer verification. She sent this via a text. I didn’t think anything of it since we have been in contact. After “verification,” we went into phase 2 which is supposed to be setting up my access to the systems as well as more KYC verifications for all their banking partners.
