Does anybody have information on this sort of an incident? (Details inside) My sister works at Subway restaurant. While at work today, she got a call from somebody claiming to be from Subway corporate. The person said that Subway corporate was rewarding workers by giving away iPhones via random draws. He said in order to be included in the draw, my sister would need to provide her cell phone number. He insisted upon my sister to provide cell phone numbers of family members as well, explaining that doing so would improve her odds of winning something in the draw. Once my sister was done providing the phone numbers, he asked for pin numbers that would be messaged to those phone numbers. My sister, after calling me and my other siblings, asked for those pin numbers and provided them to the person on the line. After my sister was done talking to the person, she called her supervisor asking if Subway Corporate was actually running any such promotions? The supervisor told her it was probably a scam, and that there were no such promotions. Also, it turns out that the call originated from a generic google voice number: 760 705 8888 Does anybody know what is at stake if you provide, to an unknown person, your phone number and the pin number subsequently messaged to that number? Is this like some sort of a subscription scam? Can somebody please help me figure out what my sister has unknowingly gotten us into? I'm freaking out!
