800-446-8848

I received multiple calls the past two days coming from 1-800-446-8848. I believe they are scam calls. They came at around 10:00 EST, and proceeded about the same. First I'd get a call, I'd pick it up, and wait a few seconds. No response is made, and I don't hear anyone on the other side. I'd then say hello, and it would either hang up, or play a quick recording that goes "hello can you hear me" and hang up. I say recording, because the spacing is not natural for the phrasing (no wait between "hello" and "can you hear me", and immediately hanging up afterwards). This to me seems like fishing: seeing if I respond and when. The first time I texted back asking if the person accidently called and asking who it was. This time I texted that it feels like a scam, and that if they do it again I'd block the number. I then looked up the number, and it showed up as Intuit's customer support number on https://www.intuit.com/company/contact/ (1-800-4INTUIT), I called it back, and it indeed seems to be Intuit's number.
